Home prices have been rising faster in the Midwest, due to affordability, and the Northeast, due to limited inventory.
Westside Party Rentals, which is located next door to the Barrie House Coffee building, purchased the property for expansion of its operations.
RYE BROOK—Houlihan Lawrence Commercial, a division of Houlihan Lawrence, announced recently the sale of the Barrie House Coffee Company’s 13,700 square-foot roasting facility at 216 South 13th Ave. in Mount Vernon for $2.8 million.
After being in business for 90 years, Barrie House Coffee Company ceased operations in February. The company’s distribution center in Elmsford also closed. Westside Party Rentals, which is located next door to the Barrie House Coffee building, purchased the property for expansion of its operations.
Andrew Grossman from Houlihan Lawrence Commercial represented both sides of this deal. “It was truly a good match for the buyer’s expansion requirements and equally good for the seller to have the flexibility on the time to move. I compliment both sides of the table on working well together. Teamwork makes the dream work. This was certainly the case here,” he said.
According to a WARN Notice filed with the New York State Department of Labor in January, Barrie House’s Mount Vernon operations were closed, affecting five workers, while a warehouse located at 4 Warehouse Lane in Elmsford was shuttered the following month, impacting 34 employees.
Houlihan Lawrence Commercial, a full-service division, specializes in investment opportunities, office, multifamily, industrial and retail sales and leasing, land acquisition, development, and municipal approval consultation.
