BBVA to Relocate New York City Headquarters to 74,000 SF at Two Manhattan West
BBVA plans to move to Two Manhattan West, the trophy office skyscraper in the Manhattan West development by the end of 2024.
NEW YORK—Brookfield Properties announced on Nov. 20 that global financial services firm BBVA will relocate its New York City headquarters to Two Manhattan West, the recently completed trophy office skyscraper located within the Manhattan West development.
BBVA plans to relocate to its new headquarters at Two Manhattan West by the end of 2024. The firm will occupy approximately 74,000 square feet between floors eight and nine in the 58-story, 1.9-million-square-foot trophy office tower.
“We are pleased to welcome BBVA to its new headquarters at Two Manhattan West, a trophy tower that sets the standard for workplace excellence,” said Callie Haines, Executive Vice President, Northeast Region Head, Brookfield Properties. “As we celebrate the completion of Two Manhattan West, marking the final piece of the transformative Manhattan West development, we are proud to add BBVA to our esteemed tenant roster and look forward to the start of a long relationship with the firm.”
“We are looking forward to moving into a prime building in a very attractive location, to provide the best possible experience to our BBVA team in New York. This is one more step in our growth plans in the US, as well as in our commitment to sustainability, by choosing a building powered by renewable energy”, said Regina Gil, Head of BBVA CIB in the U.S.
With the addition of BBVA, Two Manhattan West is now more than 80% leased. BBVA joins major tenants such as U.S. audit, tax, and advisory firm KPMG, global law firms Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and Clifford Chance, and investment and technology development firm the D.E. Shaw Group.
Construction of Two Manhattan West is now complete, and the building will welcome its first tenants in early 2024. The skyscraper offers state-of-the-art workspaces and amenities, including fitness rooms, conference spaces, and outdoor terraces, unparalleled access to transportation hubs Penn Station and Moynihan Train Hall, attractions like Madison Square Garden and the High Line, and the diverse mix of retail, dining, and entertainment outposts located at the Manhattan West campus.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, master architect of the Manhattan West development, Two Manhattan West is LEED-Gold certified. As part of Brookfield Properties’ commitment to transition its entire U.S. office portfolio to be powered by zero-emissions electricity by 2026, Two Manhattan West will procure 100% of its electricity needs from run-of-river hydropower facilities located in Upstate New York. The building features energy efficient design, optimization of electrical service performance, the use of sustainable materials, and the maximization of natural light.
Brookfield Properties was represented by in-house team Duncan McCuaig, Mikael Nahmias, Dave Caperna, and Dan Roberts. BBVA was represented by Paul Ferraro of Cushman & Wakefield and Joe Messina of JLL.
