MIDDLETOWN—Curasi Realty recently announced the successful launch of “The ANA,” its First Annual Diabetes Awareness Fundraiser, held on Nov. 9 at The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown.

The event brought together businesses and supporters to raise awareness and funds for diabetes research, education and support initiatives. Named in honor of Curasi Realty owner Nancy Curasi’s mother, Ana Maria Garcia, to memorialize her 20-year passing this year and Nancy’s desire to raise awareness for this disease that affects so many as it did her mother. The event exceeded all expectations, raising $3,500 to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Attendees enjoyed a luncheon and an afternoon filled with sharing stories of family and friends affected. The event continued with an inspiring panel guest speaker, Laura Aiello of Beans-Betes.com, who shared her personal journey of "Living with Diabetes." Her experience motivated her to create a subscription-based company dedicated to providing support and resources for those affected by diabetes. The event featured music, tricky tray prizes, and raffles, all in support of a vital cause that impacts millions of lives.

“This event underscores the power of community. When I began this endeavor, I had no idea what to expect. What I learned is many are affected and their stories touched me in a way that reinforced to me that more awareness needs to be brought to light.” said Curasi Realty event organizer, Nancy Curasi. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed—our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees. Together, we’ve made a meaningful impact in the fight against diabetes, and we look forward to building on this success in the years to come.”

Curasi extended her heartfelt thanks to Healy Brothers, Quintessential Mortgage Group, Walden Savings Bank, Above Grade Home Inspections, Strictly Septics, H&N Media, MCF Home Improvements, Rhinebeck Bank, for their generosity and sponsorship.
