FROM THE DESK OF THE CEO: Engage with HGAR on Your Terms in 2024!

As we begin a new year at HGAR, I am filled with optimism, positive energy, and excitement about what we will accomplish together in 2024. I reiterate my firm belief that challenges bring great opportunity.

I am honored to be able to implement the vision of our 2024 President Carmen Bauman, and the entire Board of Directors that is laser-focused on enhancing Advocacy, Professional Development and Engagement to empower HGAR member success.

Soon we will share with you HGAR’s new Strategic Plan and vision. You are the most important part of the plan, and we encourage you to engage and participate. To quote President Bauman, “We are stronger together.” Your involvement and support will elevate our association and our industry, as we focus on member centricity and bringing you increased value.

Member Engagement Profiles

 In my December Real Estate In-Depth column, I announced we would launch the new HGAR Member Engagement Profiles in January. Well, the profiles are now live!

Thank you to the nearly 300 members who have already completed their profiles. We are grateful for the positive response and look forward to engaging with you.

If you have not completed your profile, you can access the Member Engagement Profile form at HGAR.com via the Member Dashboard (login required) or via our social media channels.

Again, this is the first step in engaging with you on your terms. The profiles will help us gain insight into your skills, experience and interests. Members will now be able to complete their profiles at any point in time, allowing even new members to get involved with the association. These profiles also define how you wish to participate (surveys, events, forums, committees, workgroups, virtually, in-person, etc.).

Leadership and staff will be able to notify you of engagement or volunteer opportunities based on your specific profile. Creating an environment that caters to your interests and needs will ensure our collective success.

As a reminder, following the completion of our new Strategic Plan and implementation of the Member Engagement Profiles, President Bauman and our leadership will be finalizing engagement opportunities, including committees, workgroups, and Presidential Advisory Groups.

As a result of our Strategic Plan, we will also be assessing our governance framework, innovative strategies, and technology to be certain we are nimble, future-proof, and able to withstand challenges and embrace opportunities.
