HGAR at the NYSAR Fall Business Meetings

HGAR at the NYSAR Fall Business Meetings

This week, HGAR leadership and staff traveled to Turning Stone for the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR) Fall Business Meetings, where Realtors and association leaders from across the state convened for several days of collaboration, strategy, and advocacy. These annual gatherings serve as a cornerstone of our statewide network, providing a venue to align priorities, advance policies, and strengthen the Realtor voice in New York.

Why These Meetings Matter

The real estate industry is undergoing profound shifts from evolving housing policies to new regulatory mandates that impact both property owners and the professionals who serve them. At times like these, it is essential that our members’ voices are not only heard but amplified at the state level. The Fall Business Meetings brought together local associations, committees, and working groups to coordinate advocacy strategies and share best practices that protect property rights and promote housing opportunity.

For HGAR, participation at Turning Stone reflects our commitment to being a leader in these conversations. Our presence ensures that the unique perspectives of our members are represented as decisions are being shaped at the statewide level.

Key Themes from the Meetings

Throughout the week, several themes stood out that will shape the months ahead:

Advocacy and Legislative Priorities: Realtors from across the state engaged in discussions about upcoming challenges in Albany and New York City. Issues such as affordability, fair housing, and regulatory compliance remain top of mind for our industry.

Fair Housing and Professional Standards: Committees reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening fair housing enforcement and raising the bar on professional standards. These conversations remind us that protecting consumers and ensuring equity are central to our mission as Realtors.

Member Engagement and Education: Sessions also focused on enhancing member engagement, investing in leadership development, and providing timely market insights. At HGAR, we continue to prioritize delivering value to our members through education and advocacy.

Looking Ahead

As we return from Turning Stone, the real work begins bringing these insights and initiatives back to our members and ensuring they are prepared for what’s ahead. The next several months will be pivotal, not just for New York City, but for the broader housing market across the state. Policy decisions being made today will shape the environment Realtors operate in for years to come.

HGAR remains dedicated to leading on these issues, advocating for our members, and ensuring that housing opportunities remain accessible, fair, and sustainable.

Call to Action: Join Us October 6th

We encourage all members to stay engaged with our updates and advocacy initiatives and the best way to do that is to join us for our Legislative Breakfast on October 6th. This event will bring together elected officials, industry leaders, and Realtors to discuss the future of housing and the policies that directly impact your business. It’s an opportunity not only to hear from decision-makers, but also to make your voice heard.

The event will be held at the Residence Inn by Marriott New York, The Bronx Metro Center Atrium, located at 1776 Eastchester Road. The program will begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast and a Meet and Greet, followed at 9 a.m. with a panel discussion.

Our strength as Realtors lies in our ability to come together, stay informed, and act decisively. The Fall Business Meetings at Turning Stone served as an important reminder of that strength, and HGAR is proud to be carrying that momentum forward on behalf of our members.
