WHITE PLAINS—The Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, donated $57,750 to 33 Hudson Valley charities during the first half of 2024.

“It is extremely rewarding to present these checks to agencies that do so much to support our communities throughout the footprint of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors,” said Ralph Gabay, HG Realtor Foundation President. “We are grateful to our many Realtor and Affiliate members who contribute their time, money and energy to the HG Realtor Foundation to make all this possible.”

Included among those charities and non-profit organizations from Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange and Rockland counties were:

Abilities First, Wappingers
Center for Safety & Change, New City
Community Center of Northern Westchester, Katonah
Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County, Middletown
Feeding Westchester, Elmsford
Furniture Sharehouse, White Plains
Habitat for Humanity, Spring Valley
Hillside Food Outreach, Elmsford

"We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation for their invaluable support in the fight against hunger. Their partnership enables us to deliver vital food to where it is needed most in Westchester County,” said Rebecca Snyder, Director of Corporate Partnerships for Feeding Westchester.

HGAR members present a donation to Feeding Westchester just before volunteering to pack groceries and stock shelves at their Elmsford warehouse.

In fiscal year 2023, Feeding Westchester provided more than 21 million pounds of food, equivalent to more than 17 million meals through soup kitchens, food pantries, schools, shelters, residential programs, and mobile distributions.

The Center is grateful to the HG Realtor Foundation for generously supporting victims and survivors to navigate and secure housing,” said Elizabeth Santiago, the Center for Safety & Change CEO. “Housing for victims of domestic violence is a constant challenge, as many victims/survivors are forced to leave and relocate. Victims often encounter additional challenges after leaving, such as work insecurities due to time off for court appearances and children adapting to a new environment, school, and friends.”

For the past 45 years, the Center for Safety & Change has been offering programs and services for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes. The center provides a 24-hour hotline and residential services at a confidential location. This is Rockland County’s only domestic violence emergency shelter. The center is also the only crime victims’ serving organization in Rockland.

“We are so grateful for the continued support of the HG Realtor Foundation—it means so much to Support Connection and the people who rely on us. This donation helps fund vital peer counseling and other support services so that no one has to be alone while dealing with cancer,” said Katherine Quinn, Executive Director, Support Connection, Inc.

Support Connection provides emotional, social, and educational support to anyone impacted by breast, ovarian, or other gynecological cancers. It serves Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties, as well as people all over the country via its toll-free helpline and virtual programming. It offers one-on-one peer counseling, breast, ovarian, and other gynecological cancer support groups, education and wellness programs, and social activities with other cancer survivors.

Since 2014, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and non-profits throughout the Hudson Valley. As concerned members of the communities its members work in, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities who serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness, and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
