GOSHEN—The Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation and the Hudson Valley Chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors Inc. reported on Jan. 3 they had launched a strategic partnership to formalize and deepen the relationship between the organizations.

As part of the partnership, HVEDC states it will expand communication of key economic development trends and best practices to the commercial real estate brokers throughout the Hudson Valley.

“We believe we can add value to the Hudson Valley Chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors membership by communicating these regional and local trends as well as provide an education of best practices to members of the association,” said Mike Oates, president and CEO of HVEDC. “This partnership will allow HVEDC to strategically strengthen its commitment to the commercial real estate community, which will be a critical component to driving smart growth in the Hudson Valley.”

Chartered in 1995 as an organization to provide commercial real estate professionals with education and networking opportunities, the statewide organization of NYSCAR prides itself on its ability to “bring commercial real estate practitioners together,” enhancing the ever-growing membership’s success in completing transactions. A partnership with HVEDC continues to allow the Hudson Valley Chapter of NYSCAR to accomplish this mission.

Specifically, in the partnership, HVEDC will provide speakers and content for future regional meetings. HVEDC board members and other contacts will add educational value to Hudson Valley NYSCAR members. HVEDC will also participate in Hudson Valley NYSCAR yearly events such as conferences, awards functions and meetings. In addition, HVEDC Featured Property e-mail communications will feature NYSCAR regional member properties with a description of the NYSCAR chapter and its benefits.

“This partnership allows the Hudson Valley Chapter of NYSCAR to collaborate with HVEDC on regional workforce development initiatives that will be beneficial to everyone in our chapter,” said Jay Feinberg, Hudson Valley Chapter President and Managing Director of Keller Williams Realty Hudson Valley United.

“We are very excited about this partnership with HVEDC as it will give our Hudson Valley brokers the necessary market information to help them provide this analysis to their commercial real estate clients,” said James Walker, CCIM, Hudson Valley Chapter Immediate Past President and Keller Williams Realty Hudson Valley United. He is also the president to the statewide organization—the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

The Hudson Valley Chapter of NYSCAR – one of eight chapters throughout the state – serves Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, Ulster, Green and Columbia counties. The statewide organization was chartered in 1995, as a commercial overlay board, the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors is a specialty local board of Realtors with statewide jurisdiction.

HVEDC is an economic development agency for the seven-county region of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties. HVEDC helped start the organizational, branding and promotional effort for NY BioHud Valley, Hudson Valley 3D Printing, and the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance.

HVEDC and the Westchester County Association had explored a merger, but announced in late 2019 that they had decided to abandon the possible combination.
