GOSHEN—The Orange County Partnership announced on April 14 the appointment of Lucas Irace as its new Director of Business Attraction & Development. This strategic hire comes as Conor Eckert, the current Director, prepares to transition into the role of President & CEO upon the retirement of longtime Partnership leader Maureen Halahan on June 3rd.
Irace joins the Partnership at a pivotal moment for economic development in Orange County. With a focus on accelerating site development, growing the manufacturing sector, and continuing to serve as a resource for industrial site selection, he will play a key role in shaping the next generation of economic development for the region, Orange County Partnership officials stated.
“Lucas brings a deep passion for Orange County, a sharp understanding of real estate, and a results-oriented mindset to this role,” said Conor Eckert, incoming President & CEO of the Orange County Partnership. “He’s exactly the type of professional we need as we prepare for a bold new chapter, one defined by strategic growth, targeted investment, international partnerships, and a commitment to impactful economic development.”
Born and raised in Goshen, Irace is a graduate of the Goshen Central School District. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from SUNY Oneonta. Following college, Irace earned his New York State real estate license and quickly rose to prominence, assisting clients across Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. His achievements in the field earned him multiple accolades, including Rookie of the Year in 2022 and the prestigious Ruby and Sapphire awards. He also holds a CIREC (Commercial & Investment Real Estate Certification), highlighting his proficiency in complex, investment-focused transactions. Irace most recently worked with Curasi Realty of Montgomery as a licensed real estate salesperson.
In his new role, Irace will focus on cultivating strategic partnerships, recruiting new investment to the region, and promoting development opportunities that align with the Partnership’s long-term vision.
"For decades, the Orange County Partnership has built a reputation on the strength and professionalism of its team. With Conor soon stepping into the CEO role, it was essential to bring in a talented individual who shares a deep commitment to economic development. Lucas Irace is an outstanding addition to the new team as they prepare to lead the organization into its next chapter”, said Maureen Halahan, President & CEO of the Orange County Partnership.
“We’re excited to welcome Lucas to the Orange County Partnership team,” said Melissa Cobuzzi, Chair of the Orange County Partnership Board of Directors. “His talents and energy will be a tremendous asset in advancing our mission forward. The Partnership is committed to shaping a strong future in Orange County for the next decade of economic growth as we work to secure new opportunities in advanced economic development.”
