LEGAL CORNER: NYC Passes the FARE Act and Restricts the Payment of Commissions by Tenants

In 2010 Moelis helped launch New York University’s Moelis Institute for Affordable Housing.
Ron Moelis has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit New York City Housing Partnership Development Corporation. Moelis is the Chairman and co-founder of L+M Development Partners LLC, a leader in developing affordable, mixed-income and market rate housing.
He is also a co-founder and Vice Chairman of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing, a nonprofit organization that advances a policy agenda for affordable housing. In 2010 he helped launch New York University’s Moelis Institute for Affordable Housing, an academic research center devoted to improving the effectiveness of affordable housing policies and programs. Previously, Moelis helped initiate Building Skills, a construction trades training and employment program for inner-city youth, and he now serves as the co-chairperson.
Moelis also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Tenement Museum on Manhattan’s Lower East Side and the Board of Trustees of Montefiore Health Systems. He is on the National Advisory Board at the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania and the Advisory Board at the Furman Center at New York University.
