WHITE PLAINS—On Tuesday, during the HGAR Impact Conference, we proudly hosted our annual RPAC Luncheon, a signature event that continues to be one of the most important gatherings for Realtors and our advocacy efforts.

The luncheon offered members an opportunity to reconnect, build relationships, and hear directly from leaders shaping the policies that impact our industry and clients every day.

Keynote Highlights: Leaders Committed to Housing and Growth

We were honored to welcome New York State Assemblyman Matt Slater (R-C-Yorktown) as one of our keynote speakers. Assemblyman Slater has been a tireless advocate for housing and economic development in New York, consistently addressing the affordability crisis, supporting smart growth, and ensuring Realtors and homeowners have a strong voice in Albany. His remarks emphasized both the challenges ahead and the importance of collaboration between state officials and industry leaders like HGAR.

Following Assemblyman Slater, we were privileged to hear from Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, whose dynamic leadership continues to inspire. Mayor Patterson-Howard has championed economic development, housing opportunities and community partnerships across the Hudson Valley and beyond. Her remarks reinforced the urgent need for collaboration on solutions that strengthen neighborhoods, expand housing access, and fuel equitable growth. Mayor Patterson-Howard’s vision for Mount Vernon and beyond aligns closely with HGAR’s mission—to advocate for strong, vibrant communities where opportunity and homeownership are within reach for all.

This year’s luncheon was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of John Dolgetta, Dolgetta Law, PLLC, and Alex Montalenti, Real Grader. Their support underscores the critical role RPAC plays in protecting property rights, strengthening communities, and ensuring Realtors remain at the forefront of policy discussions across New York.

Elections Are Near: Realtors Must Stay Engaged

The luncheon also served as a timely reminder of the broader political landscape. Elections are approaching, and Realtors must remain informed and proactive to ensure that housing, property rights, and community development remain priorities.

Recent developments highlight this dynamic environment: New York City Mayor Eric Adams has officially dropped out of the mayoral race, reshaping the field and presenting new opportunities and challenges for our industry. This reinforces why strong advocacy through RPAC is more vital than ever.

Why RPAC Matters More Than Ever

The RPAC Luncheon was about looking forward as much as reflecting on past successes. From housing affordability to regulatory challenges, RPAC ensures Realtors are at the table when critical decisions are made. It empowers our collective voice, builds influence, and shapes the future of housing, homeownership, and economic opportunity in New York.

As we navigate this election cycle, one thing is clear: Action in RPAC starts with all of us. By staying engaged, investing in RPAC, and working together, Realtors will continue to protect property rights, champion housing solutions, and build stronger communities across New York.
