Gov. Hochul’s State of the State Address Focuses on Housing, Climate Change, Rail Improvement Funding
“The top driver of our affordability crisis is the rising cost of rent and mortgages, and New Yorkers need our help.”
D’Anzica credits the Global Business Council with creating many more networking opportunities, which in turn provides more referrals and potential business.
WHITE PLAINS—HGAR’s 2024 Realtor of the Year Tony D'Anzica is a former HGAR President, former Manhattan Association of Realtors President, co-chair of HGAR’s Global Business Council for four years and is now the 2025 HGAR RPAC Committee Chair. In addition to his extensive industry involvement, he is a Broker/Owner of Dynamax Realty in New York City.
For someone who has held such important positions within the association, you may think nothing would surprise him. But, hearing his name announced as the 2024 “Realtor of the Year” at HGAR’s 108th Annual Members Day in October was definitely unexpected. “When I heard the words ‘property manager” I was curious, but I never thought it would be me,” D’Anzica shared. “It was a total surprise and I’m deeply honored.”
As HGAR’s 2023 President, D’Anzica hosted his famous “Pizza with the President” events throughout the Bronx and Hudson Valley to get to know the membership. Now, as Chair of the RPAC Committee for this impending year (2025), he’s looking forward not only to expanding friendships but reaching out to more members about the importance of RPAC.
“I’m passionate about RPAC because the most important thing we do is advocacy,” D’Anzica explained. “The laws in New York are always changing, and many times not in our favor.”
RPAC, the Realtors Political Action Committee, is dedicated to fighting for the rights of both Realtors and homeowners. “HGAR has consistently raised more money than other New York associations and my goal this year is to make more members aware of how RPAC is essential to our business,” he added.
D’Anzica also intends to be just as involved in the association’s Global Business Council, to help local Realtors build their international business. “This originally went from a small group to a much larger one, with people who have never been involved before with the association,” he noted. As a result of its international programming, HGAR has received several Global Business Awards from the National Association of Realtors.
HGAR’s unique partnership with Portugal has resulted in Trade Missions there and in the U.S. to help build relationships and encourage international relocations and investments. In addition, HGAR has recently signed Memorandums of Understanding with several other nations, with the goal of fostering global business in both those countries and the U.S.
“People at other associations throughout the U.S. know about HGAR because of the recognition we’ve received,” said D’Anzica. “I think we’re one of the few associations that have been offering these types of global events and I think that puts us on the map. And every year, we learn something new.”
D’Anzica credits the Global Business Council with creating many more networking opportunities, which in turn provides more referrals and potential business.
As if he’s not busy enough, D’Anzica is additionally involved with NAR’s Realtor Relief Foundation, which provides assistance to victims of natural disasters like floodings, hurricanes, etc. “This is something I’ve always known about but what got me involved was all of that flooding we had a couple of years ago in the Hudson Valley,” he explained. “Because homeowners there were not in a flood zone, many insurance companies would not pay, nor would FEMA,” he said. “The only organization that actually put money into people’s hands was the Realtor Relief Foundation, though HGAR.”
The RRF started in New York more than 20 years ago as a response to 9/11 and to date, has raised more than $50 million to help victims of natural disasters throughout the U.S. D’Anzica joined RRF’s annual company committee last year.
As for his personal business, D’Anzica remains at the helm of Dynamax Realty, a property management firm he founded in 2006. He is also a New York state licensed attorney who started his career at one of New York City’s most prominent real estate law firms and has represented some of the largest landlords and property management firms in the country.
