NEW YORK—SUNY Empire State College has relocated its classrooms from its Hudson Square campus to 29,747 square feet of space at Four Park Ave., according to property owner and manager The Feil Organization.
A multi-use building featuring residential, office and retail, Four Park Avenue is situated at the 33rd Street to 34th Street blockfront in the Murry Hill section of Midtown Manhattan. SUNY Empire signed a 10-year lease for the space located on the second floor and mezzanine level of the building. Additionally, SUNY Empire State College will have signage and a dedicated separate entrance on Park Avenue for students and faculty.
“Ownership’s reputation and extensive capital improvement program were the biggest factors in SUNY Empire’s decision to relocate its Hudson Square Campus to Four Park Avenue,” stated Kevin Driscoll, director of commercial leasing at The Feil Organization. “We are pleased to welcome such a prestigious tenant to our roster.”
Driscoll represented The Feil Organization and Daniel Thompson with Savills represented SUNY Empire State College in the transaction.
“We could not be more excited to partner with The Feil Organization and move into this newly renovated landmark location,” said Nathan Gonyea, SUNY Empire State College Officer in charge. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, SUNY Empire remains at the cutting edge of offering a blend of both in-person and distance learning. Four Park Ave. continues this tradition, allowing our students to pursue their educational dreams in a brand-new, state-of-the art campus right in the heart of the business, labor, and media capital of the world.”
The New York City-based Feil Organization recently undertook an extensive capital improvement at the property, which comprised a new glass façade, lobbies and elevators. The property’s 21,646 square foot third floor is currently available. It too comes with exterior signage rights as well as a dedicated entrance and new lobby on 34th Street.
Duane Reade and Wolfgang’s Steakhouse are ground floor retail tenants at Four Park Ave.
